Catering for weddings

This being one of the most magical days of your lives, you can relax and enjoy it knowing that your reception will run smoothly and be in capable hands – we’ve organised the catering for hundreds of weddings with great success.

We can find a venue; supply or hire in marquees, lighting and microphones; decorate the house or marquee; organise specialist car hire, flowers and music; arrange musicians, entertainment for adults or children; organinse furniture, linen, china and glass: and of course produce wonderful food and wines including a wedding cake personally designed for you.

Together with the per head cost of your reception we offer these extras free of charge:

– The hire of a cake stand and knife.
– A Banqueting Manager to supervise the day and act as master of ceremonies
– Wedding day menus

Catering for parties and dinners

We can provide delicious food for private parties and corporate entertaining.

Whether you would like us to come to your home or find a suitable venue we will shop, prepare, cook, dress your dining table with flowers and candlearbra, serve and clear up afterwards or if you wish, deliver meals prepared and ready for you to pop into your oven.

You can hire a chef for the day, weekend or longer and enjoy lovely food in the comfort of your own home.

Catering for specialist banquets

We enjoy taking time to research the history of cooking and dining so let us take you back in time to sample food and entertainment as it was.

Having specialised in Viking and Medieval banquets for over 10 years at one of York’s most wonderful Medieval Halls, let us feed you with an elaborate meal served with bread trenchers and entertain you with leg wrestling, fire eating, jesters, minstrels and Royal entertainment.

Or you may desire a more well-ordered table of Victorian food, or Georgian fine dining with more adventurous dishes, crisp linen and elaborate table settings.

We can help dress your home, marquee or other appropriate venue to set the mood for your chosen period or you may like to host your banquet in one of York’s splendid Medieval venues.

So whether you are a large or small group, you can be accommodated for and have a really fun, action-packed evening of eating, drinking and making merry.

Catering for christenings and naming parties

Allowing you to sit down, relax and chat with friends and family, we can take care of all your catering needs;- from setting up the venue beforehand to clearing and washing up. So all you have to do is enjoy the day.

Catering for funerals and memorial services

We have been serving bereaved families for over twenty years and realise that this is a very difficult time with a huge amount of things to do. We will ensure that the family is able to concentrate on the funeral arrangements, knowing that the wake is taken care of sensitively, discreetly and with care.

Whether you decide to have the funeral tea at home, at the church hall or other suitable venue, we can simply deliver the food and return at a suitable time to wash and clear up, so to avoid intrusion; or we can prepare and set up the venue, provide tea urn, crockery, napkins, cutlery, utensils and supply food and drink service so that you can participate fully in the gathering and not have to think about the catering.

Receptions can be anything from simply tea and cakes or a light lunch of finger food to a more formal sit down meal. Please see sample menus.
